Ship closings shift to Microsoft Teams
Singapore maritime tech firm Assentiri has debuted its Virtual Closing Room (VCR) – a dedicated ship transaction application developed for use inside Microsoft Teams. In shipping, the most sensitive information in a deal – contracts, bank details, passports – is still generally shared by email. Yet email remains a major security risk. The VCR addresses that, giving the industry a structured and secure digital environment where all parties – owners, brokers, banks and lawyers – can prepare, review, approve and sign delivery documents directly within Microsoft Teams.“The closing of vessel transactions remains a manual and unstructured work process dominated by insecure email exchanges. With the Assentiri Virtual Closing Room, we are bringing this crucial step into the 21st century through a secure, purpose-built workspace inside Microsoft Teams that lets all parties manage and complete ship closings digitally – simple, efficient and secure. It’s not a patch to the old process – it’s a new standard for simply superior ship closings,” said Torgeir Willumsen, founder and CEO of Assentiri.
