Norway’s oil and gas player Vår Energi has entered into a collaboration agreement with TechnipFMC’s Norwegian arm for the delivery of EPCI projects for future subsea developments in the Gjøa area in the North Sea.
Vår Energi entered into the five-year agreement on behalf of the licence owners in the Gjøa Nord, Cerisa, and Ofelia discoveries. The company said that the agreement can be extended.
It covers the integrated execution of both subsea production systems and subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines work scopes.
The Gjøa Nord, Cerisa, and Ofelia discoveries are estimated to contain up to a total of 110m boe gross. If the licence partners decide to proceed, the plan is to coordinate the three developments.
This will realise synergies in procurement, engineering, drilling, installation, and project follow-up. An investment decision is planned for 2026.
“Currently, we are maturing the three oil and gas discoveries for a planned subsea development that will be tied back to the Gjøa platform. Through the agreement with TechnipFMC, the goal is to achieve faster and more competitive development,” said Torger Rød, COO of Vår Energi.
Apart from Vår Energi, partners in the Gjøa Nord licence are Petoro, Harbour Energy, and OKEA. Harbour Energy is also a partner in the Ofelia license along with Pandion, DNO, and Aker BP. The Orlen, INPEX, and Sval Energi are Vår Energi’s partners in the Cerisa license.
