Swiss/Italian ocean carrier MSC has decided to proceed with announced changes to its standalone network of its East/West services.
In particular, the company will move the vessel fleet deployed on the Mustang service into the Pacific Northwest. “In response to the current market conditions for Transpacific trade, we have decided to deploy tonnage intended for our Mustang service to trades in other parts of the world,” said MSC explaining its decision. Consequently, the container line will suspend its Mustang service until further notice.
At the same time, MSC has announced changes to its Chinook and Orient services to serve Busan, Ningbo and Portland ports.
- Orient service new rotation: Qingdao (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shanghai (China) – Busan (South Korea) – Long Beach (US) – Oakland (US) – Portland (US) – Busan
- Chinook service new rotation: Vung Tau (Vietnam) – Haiphong (Vietnam) – Yantian (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shanghai (China) – Qingdao (China) – Busan (South Korea) – Seattle (US) – Prince Rupert (Canada) – Vancouver (Canada) – Busan
The other two Transpacific services on MSC’s East/West network – Pearl and Sentosa – will remain as follows:
- Pearl: Vung Tau (Vietnam) – Haiphong (Vietnam) – Nansha (China) – Hong Kong – Yantian (China) – Xiamen (China) – Long Beach (US) – Oakland (US) – Kaohsiung (Taiwan)
- Sentosa: Port Klang (Malaysia) – Singapore – Laem Chabang (Thailand) – Vung Tau (Vietnam) – Busan (South Korea) – Long Beach (US) – Oakland (US) – Yokohama (Japan) – Ningbo (China) – Shanghai (China) – Xiamen (China) – Yantian (China) – Singapore
