The Port of Thisvi in Greece is expanding its capacity with a new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 Mobile Harbor Crane. The electrified crane has a 20 kV external power supply. It will join two existing Gottwald cranes. Delivery and commissioning are planned for Q1 2026.

The Thisvi Industrial Area handles steel and aluminum production. Raw materials arrive at the port, and finished products, mainly coated steel pipes, ship across Europe, the Caspian region, and the Middle East & Africa.

The Generation 6 crane offers a 51-meter working radius and 125-ton lifting capacity. When connected to the grid, it runs with zero local emissions. Noise and vibrations are reduced.

Tasos Kaipis, Procurement & Logistics Manager at DIA.VI.PE.THI.V., said the crane will double port capacity while maintaining reliability and versatility.

The crane includes TRUCONNECT® remote monitoring for real-time performance and maintenance tracking. This helps maximize uptime and efficiency.

Alexandros Stogianidis, Regional Sales Manager at Konecranes, said the electrified crane supports Ecolifting goals. It reduces carbon footprints while improving productivity.
