Montreal Port Strike Continues: Dockworkers Implement Overtime Ban
Dockworkers at Canada's busiest East Coast port in Montreal are set to begin an indefinite overtime ban starting at 7 am local time today, October 10th. The union cited employer delays in contract negotiations as the reason for the action. The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing approximately 1,200 dockworkers at the Port of Montreal (CUPE 375), stated that port employees have been operating without a collective agreement since December 31st of last year.
