The venture of AD Ports Group and Resources Investment will introduce a passenger ferry service in the Comoros island archipelago of East Africa.
This initiative represents part of the nation’s continuous economic and development programs, as the Comorian Government advances collaborative efforts with partners and investors to execute strategic maritime transport, port, and logistics sector projects.
These programs target sustainable development support, enhanced East African regional integration, and mutual community benefits.
Serdal International introduced the service through a joint venture between AD Ports Group and Resources Investment, an Abu Dhabi-based investment enterprise focused on impactful, strategic investments across diverse sectors in emerging and established markets.
This achievement advances Serdal International’s mission to promote maritime commerce and expand commercial operations in emerging markets, with particular African emphasis.
Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi, Chief Executive Officer of Serdal International, commented the service will utilize this island network’s potential to support community development and stimulate economic growth, consistent with our leadership’s guidance.
Under AD Ports Group’s Noatum Maritime management, the ferry service enhances inter-island connectivity while delivering safe, reliable, and affordable transportation for Comoros residents, expanding access to markets, healthcare, education, and tourism opportunities.
Comoros ferry operations utilize the vessel Yameela, accommodating up to 190 passengers in air-conditioned comfort and up to 45 vehicles.
The route connects Port of Moroni, the primary maritime gateway on Grande Comore, the main island, with Mutsamudu town on volcanic Anjouan island, establishing faster and more dependable connections for residents and visitors.
