Norwegian shipowner Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi (KGJS) has appointed Petter Mowinckel as chief executive officer, effective 1 October 2025.
Mowinckel, who joined the Bergen-based company in August 2024 as chief commercial officer, succeeds Ørjan Lunde. Lunde stepped down earlier this year and has since rejoined Odfjell Drilling as chief financial officer.
The Jebsen family-owned company, now fully focused on dry bulk, operates a modern fleet of Kamsarmax vessels.
“Petter has strong commercial background and we are confident in his abilities to drive the company, which is now fully focused on dry bulk, forward,” said Hans Peter Jebsen, owner and chairman of KGJS.
Mowinckel has spent his entire career in dry bulk shipping, previously holding senior roles at G2 Ocean and Grieg Star Bulk. In a statement, he said: “Having dedicated my entire career to the dry bulk sector, I am honored to assume the role of CEO at KGJS. With the support of our exceptional colleagues and owners, whose expertise and commitment are unmatched, I look forward to building on the company’s solid foundation.”
