New Director Appointed for Port of Long Beach Communications and Community Relations
The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has appointed Stephanie Montuya-Morisky as the new director of the Port of Long Beach's (POLB) Communications and Community Relations Division. Montuya-Morisky previously served as assistant director of communications for the port. In her new role, she will be responsible for informing and educating the public, media, and industry about POLB's significant modernization program, its crucial role as an economic driver for domestic and international trade as the second-busiest port in the U.S., and its ongoing sustainability initiatives aimed at environmental progress. Most recently, Montuya-Morisky held the position of Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Policy at InductEV, a global startup focused on electric charging solutions for zero-emission commercial fleet vehicles. Her appointment marks a return to the San Pedro Bay port, where she previously worked as assistant director of the Communications and Community Relations Division from January 2019 until early this year. Her earlier career includes roles as a public affairs officer at Long Beach Airport and experience as a news producer, reporter, and anchor for KGET-TV and KERN Radio in Bakersfield.
