Shipping giant MSC has announced an enhancement to its Chinook service, introducing a new port call at Haiphong, Vietnam. This expansion, effective in late October, aims to bolster MSC's Transpacific network by establishing a direct trade link between Vietnam and the United States and Canada. The move is expected to significantly benefit North Vietnamese exporters and importers, offering competitive and direct transit times to ports in the Pacific Northwest of the US and Canada, while also improving transit times to the Pacific Southwest. The updated service rotation will commence with the vessel MSC DAMLA departing from Haiphong on October 23rd. The new route will be: Haiphong (Vietnam) – Yantian (China) – Shanghai (China) – Qingdao (China) – Busan (South Korea) – Vancouver (Canada) – Seattle (US) – Portland (US) – Haiphong.
