Long Beach Terminals Fully Operational After Battery Fire Incident
The Port of Long Beach (POLB) has announced the full reopening of Ocean Boulevard and the Vincent Thomas Bridge. This follows the successful removal of a truck and its cargo involved in a battery fire. The incident occurred at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Navy Way. The site has been decontaminated, with the Los Angeles Fire Department having relocated and contained the affected load to another location within the Port of Los Angeles. POLB confirmed that its terminals are no longer experiencing any impact from the event. The battery fire, which took place on September 27th at Ocean Boulevard and Navy Way in the Port of Los Angeles, had previously affected operations at nearby Long Beach terminals. Specifically, two Port of Long Beach container terminals, located at Pier T and Pier A, were temporarily closed for the day shift (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) due to their proximity to the fire.
