Seoul-based liner operator Korea Marine Transport Co (KMTC) has been identified as the owner behind a series of six feeder containership newbuildings ordered at HD Hyundai Group yards. Shipbuilding sources indicate that KMTC is the Asian owner involved in a KRW 372.4 billion ($258 million) contract revealed last week by HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, which did not disclose the owner's name.
