Inchcape Shipping Services, a global leader in port agency and marine services, has expanded its footprint with a new office in Las Palmas, Spain. The move strengthens the company’s presence in a key hub for global trade.

Strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, West Africa, and the Americas, the Port of Las Palmas handles more than 12,000 vessel calls each year. It is a vital center for container transshipments, break bulk cargo, bunkering, ship repairs, cruise operations, and mega yacht services.

Daniel Vikstrom, Regional CEO for EMEA at Inchcape, said the new office marks an important milestone in the company’s growth. “This expansion allows us to support clients in the Mid-Atlantic region with seamless, 24/7 service across a wide range of vessels and maritime activities,” he said.

Comprehensive Services

The Las Palmas office will offer a full range of port agency services, including:

  • Full port agency and protective agency

  • Bunker calls and husbandry services

  • Dry docking support and crew logistics

  • Ship spares delivery and cash to master

  • Garbage and sludge disposal

  • Cargo operations coordination

  • Medical services and fresh provisions

  • Underwater works and hull cleaning

  • Migration formalities and renewal of sanitary certificates

All services operate around the clock and meet Inchcape’s global standards.

Advanced Infrastructure and Innovation

The Port of Las Palmas offers over 15 km of berthing line, depths from 3 to 45 meters, MalaccaMax STS cranes, multipurpose docks, and modern shipyard facilities. It is also a leading bunkering hub with 550,000 m³ of fuel storage and four top bunkering operators.

The port is undergoing a digital transformation through the Ports 4.0 initiative, introducing real-time cargo tracking, paperless workflows, and AI-driven logistics systems. It holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications and complies fully with MARPOL standards.

A Vibrant Maritime Ecosystem

Las Palmas is home to more than 600 companies. Its maritime ecosystem includes offshore energy support, refrigerated cargo logistics, and cruise tourism. The port is a cornerstone of Atlantic maritime operations.

With this expansion, Inchcape Shipping Services continues to strengthen its global network, ensuring clients receive reliable, high-quality support wherever they operate.
