Imabari Shipbuilding completed the 64,000 DWT bulk carrier BELFORTUNE at its Head Office & Imabari Shipyard. The vessel is a handy-max size bulk carrier built under Common Structural Rules (CSR BC & OT).

Cargo Holds and HandlingEach cargo hold has topside and hopper tanks, allowing the ship to load diverse cargo types such as grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coils, and long steel. The vessel features wide hatch openings with folding-type hatch covers and four deck cranes to boost cargo handling efficiency.

Cargo CompatibilityBELFORTUNE can transport cargoes under the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code, making it versatile for bulk and specialized shipments.

Environmental FeaturesThe ship complies with MARPOL, Ballast Water Management, and other environmental regulations. Its Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) meets Phase 2 standards and is ready for Phase 3 requirements from 2025 onward. The vessel includes a ballast water treatment system and maintains an Inventory of Hazardous Materials in line with the Ship Recycling Convention.

Propulsion and PerformanceHigh propulsion efficiency is achieved using energy-saving devices, a high-efficiency propeller, and low-friction hull paint. The vessel maintains a service speed of approximately 14 knots.
