Hellmann and Exotec Forge Global Warehouse Automation Partnership
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and Exotec have inked a global framework agreement aimed at revolutionizing warehouse automation. Exotec, a leader in scalable robotics systems for intralogistics, will collaborate with Hellmann to enhance automation within its Contract Logistics division. This strategic alliance will transform supply chain processes by adopting a goods-to-person fulfillment methodology. An initial project has already commenced within the healthcare sector, with further implementations slated for other industries and geographical regions.
The agreement is a direct response to the escalating complexities of intralogistics. Growing customer expectations, fluctuating order volumes, and shrinking cut-off times necessitate highly scalable fulfillment systems. Furthermore, the persistent shortage of skilled labor underscores the urgent need for advanced automation.
Exotec's modular robotics solution will empower Hellmann Contract Logistics sites globally with flexible, end-to-end automation capabilities that can be rapidly adapted to evolving market demands. The initial implementation is underway at a German healthcare customer's facility, a sector where high delivery speeds and unwavering reliability are paramount. This system facilitates comprehensive automation from goods receipt through to shipping, leveraging a goods-to-person approach.
Dynamic robots will autonomously store products following employee verification. The high-performance retrieval system is designed to achieve rapid throughput times and accommodate later cut-off times for customers.
