Global shipping giant CMA CGM has announced an immediate and indefinite suspension of all bookings for Dangerous Goods (DG) and hazardous cargo. This restriction applies to both import and export shipments destined for or originating from a comprehensive list of countries across the Middle East and Red Sea/Levant regions.
The affected Middle Eastern countries include: Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
The Red Sea/Levant region restrictions cover: Jordan, Yemen, Egypt (specifically the Port of Ain Sokhna), Djibouti, Sudan, and Eritrea.
CMA CGM stated that the decision was made to safeguard cargo integrity, ensure stable equipment positioning, and maintain operational safety. The company will issue further updates regarding hazardous containers already en route or awaiting loading at their origin ports in the near future.
