The Port of Aarhus, Denmark’s largest commercial port, reported solid results for the first half of 2025. Freight turnover rose 5.3% compared to last year, while container volumes jumped more than 13%. The strong performance has prompted the port to raise its full-year financial expectations.

Revenue for the first six months reached DKK 186 million, with EBIT at DKK 52 million and a net result of DKK 48 million. The port has now revised its annual result forecast upward by DKK 23 million.

CEO Thomas Haber Borch credited the results to close cooperation across the supply chain: “Despite global unpredictability, we delivered a strong first half. Our partners, APM Terminals, and the many employees who secure Denmark’s supply every day have all contributed to this success.”

Borch highlighted container growth as the main driver, boosted by an expanded route network and shifting global trade flows. “Geopolitical changes are sending more containers to Aarhus. We are increasingly an important hub for cargo moving into Europe,” he said.

New services introduced this year include direct Asia connections from MSC, Maersk, and Hapag-Lloyd, as well as expanded Maersk routes and a new CMA CGM link to the Baltic region.
