MSC has strengthened its NWC–USA–SAWC service with a new direct call at Bilbao, Spain. The move gives exporters in northern Spain faster access to key markets in the Caribbean, Central America, and the West Coast of South America.

The upgraded service supports a wide range of industries, including plywood, raw materials, and food and beverages. MSC said the move underlines its commitment to improving connectivity between Spain and Latin America.

The new routing delivers faster transit times and avoids delays caused by congestion at major transshipment hubs. Estimated transit times from Bilbao include:

  • Caucedo: 16 days

  • Cartagena: 19 days

  • Cristobal: 21 days

  • Rodman: 22 days

  • Callao: 26 days

  • San Antonio: 30 days

  • Coronel: 32 days

  • Valparaiso: 33 days

Customers also gain access to MSC’s full range of services. These include inland transport, customs clearance, and container stuffing.

The first vessel on the new rotation will be MSC Carole, voyage 550A, scheduled to call at Bilbao on December 20. The updated rotation will run as follows: London – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Bilbao – Las Palmas – Caucedo – Cartagena – Cristobal – Rodman – Callao – San Antonio – Coronel – Valparaiso.
