China’s Anhui Zhongxin Funeng Shipping has placed an order for four containerships at Jiangsu Dayang Offshore Equipment.
The deal coves newbuilds designed by the Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC), a total nominal capacity of around 3,010 teu, including about 1,930 teu on deck and 1,080 in the holds, with space allocated for reefers.
No price has been revealed for the 186-m-long and roughly 35-m-wide newbuilds delivering across 2027 and 20228.
Multiple owners have booked newbuilds at Chines yards in the 3,000-3,100 teu range, including Vietnam’s Hai An Transport, Norwegian-based Blystad Group, Greek owner Costamare and most recenly Turkish industrial conglomerate Ciner Group.
