Yusen Logistics Global Management (YLGM) and AGL Kenya, part of Africa Global Logistics, have signed a joint venture agreement in Nairobi to expand logistics capabilities in East Africa.

The partnership follows a memorandum of understanding signed in Paris in April 2025. Subject to regulatory approvals, the new venture will launch in January 2026, offering freight forwarding, multimodal transport, contract logistics, and customs brokerage. Kenya will serve as a strategic gateway for the region.

Hiroyuki Okamoto, President and COO of YLGM, said the partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to delivering world-class logistics solutions and sustainable growth across Africa.

Stanislas de Saint Louvent, CEO of Africa Logistics & Shipping at AGL, added that combining AGL’s local expertise with YLGM’s global network will enhance services and strengthen Africa’s connection to the global economy.

The joint venture aims to create opportunities for businesses and people while positioning Africa as a growing hub for global logistics.
