Singapore’s Yinson Production has quietly extended its footprint into the VLCC segment, sealing a deal with Greek powerhouse Angelicoussis Group for the 317,100 dwt Maran Antares (built 2012, Daewoo).
The price remains undisclosed, though VesselsValue estimates the ship’s market worth at around $68m — marking Yinson’s youngest tanker purchase to date.
It remains unclear whether the VLCC will be converted into an FPSO, which is the company’s core business. AIS data shows the vessel is currently en route to Galle.
The sale forms part of Maran Tankers’ recent fleet renewal drive. This is its second VLCC disposal in short succession, following the August sale of the 320,500 dwt Maran Capricorn (built 2008), which has since been renamed Star Pioneer after being sold to Oman Red Trading.
