Oslo-listed Ventura Offshore has picked up more work for the semisubmersible SSV Catarina after Eni Indonesia exercised a third optional well under its current drilling campaign. The latest call-off keeps the Catarina working through the second quarter of 2026 and adds roughly $20m to Ventura Offshore’s firm backlog. Eni still has one optional well remaining in the programme; if taken up, the rig’s employment could run into the third quarter of 2026.The semi joined Ventura Offshore’s fleet in June 2024 after the company acquired the rig from Umas 1 for $105m. It began its Indonesian campaign for Eni in August 2024 and has remained on continuous duty since.Ventura Offshore operates largely in deep-water Brazil but has widened its footprint through international contracts such as the current Indonesian campaign. Its fleet includes the drillship DS Carolina, semisubmersibles SSV Victoria and SSV Catarina, and the managed drillship DS Zonda.
