The import and export of vehicles at Valenciaport have faced challenges. In October, the terminals of the Spanish port handled the loading and unloading of 50,465 vehicles, reflecting an 11.75% decrease compared to the same month last year.

From January to October, the total number of vehicles handled reached 480,441 units, a decline of 10.43%. On an annual basis, 587,208 vehicles were processed, representing a 9.48% reduction.

These figures mirror the condition of the automotive sector both in Spain and globally, facing various challenges, such as labour shortages, geopolitical tensions and technological disruptions.

Meanwhile, according to the Port Authority of Valencia, the first 10 months of the year saw the handling of 2.74 million tonnes (Mt) of liquid bulk (-39%); 2.36 Mt of solid bulk (+15.41%); 13.26 Mt of non-containerised goods (+2.63%); 49.37 Mt of containerised goods (+10.76%); 1,484 tonnes of fishing products (+47.34%); and 395,575 tonnes of victualling supplies (+10%).

Overall, more than 68 million tonnes of goods were processed, translating to a 5.72% increase compared to the same period last year.
