Valenciaport has awarded INTERIM SERVICES SOLUTIONS the contract to provide passenger assistance and information as part of the project to strengthen border security at the ports of Valencia and Sagunto.
The contract, valued at EUR€584,767.59, aims to provide support to the National Police in managing passenger flows and implementing identity verification and immigration control procedures.
This work forms part of implementing the Entry and Exit System and the European Travel Information and Authorization System at ports.
Specifically, the award is part of the project promoted by the Port Authority of Valencia, which is 75% co-financed by the European Union through the European Funds for Internal Security.
The Project also includes installing a container, which will become the border security project’s centerpiece. The infrastructure is already in transit and will soon be installed at the Port of Valencia.
The infrastructure will be equipped with advanced technology for passport scanning, passenger service, and immigration control, including large windows, thermal insulation systems, adequate lighting, and functional furniture.
Its design ensures efficient and secure operation, enabling identity verification and control procedures to be carried out efficiently with every guarantee.
This project responds to the APV’s objective of actively collaborating with the Ministry of the Interior and European institutions to improve border controls.
Additionally, verification and supervision tablets will be incorporated, which will facilitate control team work and increase efficiency in border information management.
