Toll Group has launched Singapore’s first decarbonisation hub dedicated to electric supply vessels, marking a major step toward greener maritime logistics. The 12-month proof-of-concept project is developed in partnership with Yinson GreenTech and aligns with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 and Toll Group’s net-zero ambitions.
The hub aims to cut emissions by up to 80% per trip, saving more than a tonne of CO₂ each journey. It also optimises vessel movements and improves overall operational efficiency.
“This project will deliver real-world insights to guide future regulations and accelerate innovation across Asia,” said Jonathon Kottegoda-Breden, President Asia Logistics at Toll Group. He added that the hub will encourage wider adoption of green maritime technologies and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
The facility integrates electric marine transport, smart warehousing, and efficient cargo trucking into a digitally connected, end-to-end operation. Real-time coordination ensures clean, responsive logistics while maintaining high service levels. Purpose-built charging stations and smart cargo handling equipment maximise vessel uptime and ensure predictable turnarounds for time-sensitive shipments.
Rajeev Sood, Executive Vice President – Energy, Marine & Renewables, Asia Logistics, said the hub demonstrates how sustainable solutions can boost both operational efficiency and emissions reduction.
Strategically located near Changi Airport and Singapore’s Eastern Anchorages, the hub enables rapid air-sea connectivity, streamlined trailer access, and consolidated warehousing. Toll said the initiative sets a blueprint for sustainable maritime logistics across Asia.
The launch included a media and customer event, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the hub’s advanced infrastructure and electric vessel technology.
A decarbonisation hub is a centralised facility that integrates clean energy technologies, infrastructure, and processes to reduce emissions across the supply chain.
