London-listed dry bulk owner Taylor Maritime has agreed the sale of another handysize vessel, taking its total disposals since 2023 to 51 ships.
Further details of the latest transaction will be released on completion, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
At the same time, the Ed Buttery-led outfit confirmed that a previously announced handysize sale, first disclosed last October, has now completed. That deal generated gross proceeds of $15.3m.
Since launching its disposal programme in 2023, Taylor Maritime has raised more than $820m from vessel sales, excluding the newly agreed transaction. The company has been one of the most active sellers in the geared bulk segment, steadily reducing exposure in a firm secondhand market.
Chief executive Buttery said the latest deal underlines the company’s willingness to crystallise gains and preserve value through asset sales, in line with investor feedback.
“Our current position allows us to consider the full range of options available to us in an orderly manner, including further sales and capital returns,” he said.
Earlier this month, the company completed a compulsory partial redemption, returning $143.4m of capital to shareholders.
Following the latest moves, Taylor Maritime’s owned fleet stands at seven bulkers, including one held for sale. The fleet comprises five handysize ships and two supra/ultramax vessels. The company also has one vessel under a joint venture and three chartered-in ships.
