Subsea7 has landed a sizeable new contract from Chevron Australia to carry out subsea installation work on the Gorgon stage 3 (GS3) project, offshore Western Australia.
The Oslo-listed contractor said the award covers a full subsea scope at around 1,350 m water depth, including project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of subsea equipment and associated infrastructure.
Engineering and project management activities will start immediately from Subsea7’s Perth office, with additional support from teams in Kuala Lumpur and Paris. Offshore installation work is scheduled to take place in 2028.
David Bertin, senior vice president for Subsea7’s global projects centre East, said the contract strengthens the company’s long-standing relationship with Chevron.
“This project marks an important milestone and reinforces our long-term strategic engagement with Chevron,” Bertin said. “We look forward to working collaboratively with Chevron Australia, with a strong focus on safety and quality, to deliver the Gorgon Stage 3 subsea installation.”
The company classifies a substantial contract as having a value in the range of $150m to $300m.
