Skyborn Renewables, a German offshore wind developer of Blackrock’s Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), and Dajin Heavy Industry have signed a contract for the provision of transition pieces for the Gennaker offshore wind project.
The Gennaker project, located in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Germany, will have a maximum capacity of 976MW and is anticipated to start operations in 2028. When complete, it will be able to power around 1m homes.
The offshore wind farm will consist of 63 15W turbines. Production of the substation jackets and topsides is expected to continue until mid-2026, with transition piece installation set to start in February 2026 and end in June 2026.
“[Dajin’s] proven offshore manufacturing experience and strong delivery record will help ensure the success of the Gennaker project,” said Patrick Lammers, Skyborn CEO.
