South Carolina Ports has welcomed 30 professionals from across the state into its 2025–2026 Port Ambassador Program, now entering its ninth year.
The initiative brings together community and business leaders who will meet monthly from September through May, gaining firsthand insight into how SC Ports drives statewide economic growth and supports the Southeast supply chain.
Participants will engage directly with port leadership, tour inland and ocean terminals, and connect with port-dependent businesses that rely on SC Ports to access global markets.
Ashley Iseman, SC Ports’ director of executive office operations and program co-lead, commented that the ambassadors will see how port infrastructure and innovation directly support business, jobs, and communities in every corner of the state.
The program also includes attendance at the annual State of the Port address, along with sessions focused on global trade, competitiveness, and infrastructure investment.
Michael Jackson, SC Ports’ director of federal and state government strategy and program co-lead, added that the Port Ambassador Program builds a network of informed leaders who can share the Port’s story, highlight its economic impact, and advocate for continued investment in port infrastructure that benefits future generations of South Carolinians.
The 2025–26 class will begin in September with a tour of the Wando Welch Terminal and an in-depth look at the Port of Charleston’s operations.
