Malaysian offshore services player Sapura Energy has announced that its chairman, Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah, and group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Anuar Taib, will leave their positions in the fourth quarter of the current financial year.
Sapura Energy said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that Mohammad Azlan will step down from his chairmanship position in end-January 2025, after serving since May 2022. He joined the company’s board as a non-independent non-executive director in October 2019.
Mohd Anuar will step down as group CEO and executive director at the end of 2024 after nearly four years heading up the company.
The group’s interim chairman Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad will be redesignated as chairman of the board, while SapuraOMV chief executive Muhammad Zamri Jusoh will take over as group CEO on March 1, 2025. Sapura Energy’s CEO of the operations and maintenance unit, Mohamad Nasri Mehat will be the officer-in-charge in the interim.
