Prosafe bags further flotel work in UK North Sea

Prosafe has secured another contract extension for its accommodation unit Safe Caledonia, keeping the vessel working in the UK North Sea into late February next year.
The Oslo-listed accommodation rig specialist said the semisubmersible will continue supporting operations at Ithaca Energy’s Captain field after winning the remaining three weeks of options under the contract. The latest extension runs through to 22 February 2026 and carries a value of about $2.73m.
The award builds on momentum for Prosafe in the North Sea, where Safe Caledonia has been steadily extending its stay offshore. The company first fixed the unit to the Captain field in August 2024, securing a foothold for the 1982-built, 2012-upgraded vessel.
In November, Prosafe landed a larger seven-week extension for the same unit, a deal worth around $6.4m, which already had the rig committed into early February 2026. The latest option exercise now pushes that work programme further, adding incremental backlog and cash flow.
