PortSide Stories: Santos

Where Brazil’s Heart Meets the Sea

The Port of Santos is Latin America’s largest port. Ships from all over the world dock here, carrying coffee, sugar, soy, and more. But Santos is more than a port; it’s a city full of life, beaches, and history.

Bites by the Bay

Food in Santos is rich and fresh. Try feijoada, the classic black bean and pork stew. Seafood lovers will enjoy moqueca, a coconut fish stew, and pastel de camarão, crispy shrimp pastries. For sweets, taste brigadeiros, chocolate truffles loved by everyone. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a caipirinha or strong Brazilian coffee to complete the experience.

Strolls with Sand and Sea

Start at Orla de Santos, the beachfront promenade, perfect for a walk or morning jog.
Relax at Gonzaga Beach, or enjoy water sports. The Orla e Jardins da Praia de Santos features the world’s largest ocean-front gardens and it’s ideal for a scenic stroll. Moreover, wander through the Municipal Market of Santos for tropical fruits, cheeses, and local crafts.

History and Legends

Football fans must visit the Pelé Museum, celebrating the legendary player. Check out Urbano Caldeira Stadium, home of Santos FC. Don’t miss the Coffee Museum, located in the old Coffee Stock Exchange, tells the story of Brazil’s coffee trade and the port’s role. Ride the funicular up Monte Serrat for panoramic city and harbor views. At the top, the Monte Serrat Church offers a peaceful spot with sweeping vistas.

Rest with Ocean Views

Stay in beachfront hotels for Atlantic views and easy port access. Boutique stays in the city center offer comfort and convenience. Santos has accommodations for every type of traveler.

Santos in Motion

The port buzzes with activity, and the city pulses with culture, history, and beach life.
Every street, museum, and garden tells a story. Santos isn’t just a stop, it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave.
