Port of Brisbane has achieved 100/100 in the globally recognized GRESB Infrastructure Assessment, a framework that evaluates and benchmarks ESG performance and sustainability best practices across infrastructure assets worldwide.
This marks the sixth consecutive year PBPL has received a 5-star rating, establishing its position as a sustainability leader in the ports sector.
The assessment was based on FY24 financial year data.
PBPL CEO Neil Stephens stated the result reflects the Port’s long-term strategic focus and its people’s commitment and it represents strong endorsement of their work to embed sustainability throughout our business, from governance and risk management to operational performance and stakeholder engagement.
PBPL continues making strong progress toward its 2030 sustainability goals and delivering on its Sustainability Linked Loan commitments.
Key sustainability initiatives delivered in FY25 include:
- Maintained Net Zero Emissions (scope 1 and 2, with offsets) supported by rooftop solar and new battery installations
- Maintained Advanced Workplace Recognition by Mental Health First Aid Australia
- Achieved 93% customer satisfaction rating from annual stakeholder survey
- Alternative fuel investigation undertaken for marine vessels and BMT equipment
- Rehabilitated 1.65ha of valuable environmental port land
- Completed construction of property development targeting a 6-Star Green Star rating
- Advanced ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan.
