Baltic Hub, the largest and fastest-growing container terminal complex in the Baltic Sea, announced a series of new services that will start calling its facilities in Gdansk, Poland, during the next weeks and months of the year.

Starting at the end of March, the terminal hub will receive two weekly calls from Maersk vessels as part of the newly established Gemini Alliance network. Additionally, MSC will launch two new weekly services in early April.

The first new service is a result of the new ‘Gemini Cooperation’ between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd. Under this alliance, Maersk will operate two weekly shuttles at Baltic Hub, linking Polish ports with the German ports of Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven.

In addition, MSC will expand its presence in Gdansk by adding Baltic Hub to two of its weekly Asia-Europe services – Britannia and Albatros.

Besides these new services, the long-established AEU1/LL1/FAL5/NE1 service operated by Ocean Alliance of CMA CGM, COSCO, Evergreen and OOCL and FAL1 operated by CMA CGM will continue their calls at Baltic Hub.

Jan van Mossevelde, CEO of Baltic Hub, stated: “As part of our T3 expansion program, we are adding additional yard space and handling capacity, which will help unlock new opportunities for our customers, facilitate greater trade flows across Central and Eastern Europe and strengthen the Polish economy. The introduction of these new services and clients propel us forward in our pursuit of operational excellence, enhanced safety and sustained growth.”

The Polish terminal will be able to facilitate the handling of Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs), serving these additional services with the state-of-the-art STS cranes at its new T3 expansion project that is currently being built on a 360,000m² artificial peninsula, linked to its current terminals.

When fully completed in late 2025, T3 will expand Baltic Hub’s capacity by 1.5 million to 4.5 million TEUs per year.
