Newcomer Chinese container line Chenxin Shipping has made its ship-owning debut, with newbuilding orders for two 4,350 TEU ships and two 1,900 TEU ships at compatriot Yangzhou Wanlong Shipbuilding.
The prices of the newbuildings, expected to be delivered in 2028, were not disclosed, but a 4,500 TEU vessel is priced around US$60.5 million while a 1,900 TEU ship is priced around US$32 million.
