Danish shipowner and operator Norden has named Christian Antonsen as its new head of dry cargo in the freight services and trading division.
Antonsen joins from agricultural giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), where he currently serves as global ocean freight director, chartering. His career has also included stints at Swiss-based agribusiness firm Bunge and Denmark-based dry bulk operator Ultrabulk.
Effective January 1, 2026, Antonsen will lead Norden’s team of 100 dry cargo employees and oversee a fleet of around 300 bulkers, covering everything from project and parcel trades to capesize operations.
“Christian joins Norden from one of our important customers, and we’re excited for the insights, leadership and strategic mindset he brings to our commercial business,” said Norden chief operating officer Anne Jensen, adding: “He’s an experienced leader who understands both sides of the chartering table. His focus on data, innovation and customer collaboration will be key in strengthening our dry cargo offering.”
Antonsen’s appointment comes as the Copenhagen-listed company continues to expand its freight services and deepen integration between its dry cargo, tanker and logistics segments. In his new role, he will work across business lines to support NORDEN’s strategic direction and customer engagement.
