Danish shipowner Norden has signed a new two-year contract of affreightment with US-based wood pellet producer Enviva, covering shipments from the US to Europe starting in 2026.
Under the agreement, Norden will carry multiple handysize cargoes of wood pellets from loading ports along the US East and Gulf coasts to Enviva’s customers in the UK and continental Europe.
The deal extends a long-standing partnership between the two companies, which have worked together since 2012 on transatlantic wood pellet shipments.
“Enviva is a valued customer to Norden,” said Jan Rindbo, CEO of Norden. “Our collaboration allows us to continue delivering sustainable energy products across the Atlantic while supporting Enviva’s role in reducing reliance on fossil fuels.”
Enviva, headquartered in Maryland, is the world’s largest producer of industrial wood pellets, operating several plants across the US Southeast.
