Greek firms Navios Maritime Partners and Danaos have decided to upgrade their fleet, according to DynaLiners.

Navios has contracted to purchase four 8,900 TEU methanol-ready newbuilding vessels from an independent third party at US$ 115.1 million per unit.

Deliveries are scheduled between late 2027 and first quarter 2028, with vessels designated for charter operations at US$ 44,145 daily rates over 5.2-year terms, including charterer options for one additional year at marginally reduced rates.

Non-operating shipowner Danaos has ordered two 7,500 TEU scrubber-equipped/methanol-ready vessels from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry at approximately USD 90 million each, according to TradeWinds reporting.

Delivery timeline is established for late 2027.
