Malaysia-based offshore marine group Nam Cheong has secured contracts worth $47.5m for three offshore support vessels.
The contracts are for an anchor handling tug supply vessel and two fast crew suppliers. One vessel will be chartered to an offshore wind farm contractor in Japan.
The remaining two will be chartered to Marine Operations for Environmental Services (SAIL) in the Middle East to support environmental preservation projects. SAIL specialises in monitoring and responding to oil spills along Saudi Arabian shores.
According to the company, the contract will begin in 2025 and will last up to two years, with further extension options.
With the inclusion of these three ships, Nam Cheong now has a total of 24 vessels operating under long-term contracts, or 63% of its entire fleet.
The company stated that these deals show continued progress towards its strategic target of having 70% of the fleet under long-term charters.
