Port of Nagoya handled 201,973 TEUs of foreign-trade containers in January. This marked a 4% year-on-year increase. It was the port’s first growth in two months.
Nagoya Port Authority released the preliminary data.
Throughput surged at Tobishima Pier North Container Terminal. Volumes jumped 299.9% to 6,693 TEUs. Tobishima Pier South Container Terminal recorded 22,754 TEUs, up 31.6%. Tobishima Pier South Side Container Terminal handled 46,815 TEUs, an increase of 13.4%.
Nabeta Pier Container Terminal processed 95,243 TEUs. This represented a 3.9% rise.
In contrast, volumes at NCB Container Terminal fell sharply. Throughput dropped 27% to 30,468 TEUs.
