Japanese offshore contractor Eneos Drilling has won a second jackup contract in two days with Murphy Oil.
The company said that it agreed to provide jackup drilling services to subsidiaries of Murphy Oil based on a subcontract with PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation, which secured the drilling contract from Murphy.
The rig in question is the 2018-built Hakuryu 14. The contract is for two firm wells with work slated to begin in the third quarter of 2025. Murphy Oil has extension options for more wells. Financial details were not revealed.
Both the Hakuryu 11, which won a contract for four wells on Thursday, and the Hakuryu 14 will work off Vietnam.
