MSC has announced the official opening of its MEDLOG Inland Terminal Paris-Bruyères, following an inauguration ceremony.

Located just 40 kilometers north of Paris, this 110,000 m² multimodal terminal has commenced operations since late 2024. Designed as a scalable and modular infrastructure, it is built to support the sustainable growth of multimodal transport across the Greater Paris and Greater East regions, according to MSC.

This project forms part of a broader investment programme led by the Swiss/Italian company and its subsidiary Terminal Investment Limited (TiL), aiming to enhance France’s port and logistics infrastructure.

Closely tied to the TN MSC Port 2000 project in Le Havre, the terminal plays an integral role in the group’s strategy to connect local and global markets more efficiently.

Designed with environmental responsibility in mind, the Paris-Bruyères terminal provides improved infrastructure via rail and barge, removing road miles and associated emissions and leaving only last-mile connectivity to be performed by trucks. This approach decreases reliance on road transport, a major contributor to pollution and congestion in the Île-de-France region. Additionally, the site itself is developed according to sustainable principles, featuring ecological compensation zones and efficient natural resource management.

Marc Bourdon, Managing Director of MSC France, commented: “This ambitious project reflects our long-term commitment to decarbonizing our customers’ supply chains and developing sustainable logistics solutions. It also serves as a powerful driver for the regional economy by strengthening multimodal connections and creating new opportunities for local stakeholders. It is a concrete response to the challenges of growth, competitiveness, and sustainability.”

The new terminal offers a wide range of logistics services, including handling, storage, container repair, and management of reefers for the agri-food and pharmaceutical industries. It is also equipped to handle special and breakbulk cargo, serving the needs of the energy, construction, and heavy industry sectors.

Frank Tetrel, Managing Director of MEDLOG France, emphasises: “This new terminal embodies our vision of a more integrated, more resilient, and above all more sustainable supply chain, while ensuring our clients have increasingly efficient and environmentally-friendly options for their logistics solutions.”

Key facts:

  • Surface area: 110,000 m²
  • Annual capacity: over 100,000 TEUs
  • Two-track rail terminal
  • 230-metre-long river quay
