McDermott has secured a front-end engineering design contract from Repsol for the Polok and Chinwol field development project in Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
The Houston-based offshore contractor said its project scope would cover FEED services for the project’s engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of subsea, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines.
“Our extensive experience in subsea engineering and in-house EPCI capabilities uniquely position us to deliver innovative and efficient FEED solutions for Repsol’s development of the Polok and Chinwol fields,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s senior vice president of subsea and floating facilities.
Polok and Chinwol deepwater discoveries are located in Block 29 in the Salina Basin. Repsol as the operator struck first oil in May 2020. McDermott’s engineering scope of the field development project will be led from its base in Houston.
