The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping (the Center) and Rystad Energy have officially joined forces through a Knowledge Partnership Agreement, formalizing their collaboration. This signals a long-term commitment to strategic cooperation in the decarbonization of the maritime industry. Rystad Energy, an independent energy research and business intelligence company tracking and analyzing global energy flows, brings invaluable insights with millions of data points to support the Center. Positioned at the forefront of global energy transition understanding, Rystad Energy’s partnership aims to strengthen the maritime industry’s role in the transition and expedite efforts to achieve carbon neutrality in the maritime sector by 2050. Bo Cerup-Simonsen, CEO of the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, expressed enthusiasm about Rystad Energy’s contribution, enhancing detailed work on Green Shipping Corridors and showcasing decarbonization pathways within the context of the global energy transition. Jarand Rystad, CEO of Rystad Energy, highlighted the company’s pride in joining the Center Partner Network, emphasizing the commitment to supporting the crucial mission of decarbonizing the maritime industry with their bottom-up granular data and research on the global energy system, providing valuable insights into the feasibility of Green Shipping Corridors and the maritime industry’s role in the energy transition.
