A.P. Moller–Maersk has launched its first bonded warehouse in Vietnam, located within SLP Park at Nam Dinh Vu IP in Hai Phong province.

This warehouse, managed by Maersk Contract Logistics, represents a significant milestone for Maersk in expanding its presence in Northern Vietnam, especially as import and export demand continues to rise.

The inauguration was attended by Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, Commercial Counsellor of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, underscoring the strong support for international business collaboration.

“Maersk always aims to bring the most optimal logistics solutions to our customers. We believe that running our own bonded warehouse directly helps us to synchronize processes for our clients. It also improves service quality and cost controls. We sincerely thank Amazon for choosing Maersk as a long-term partner in Vietnam and look forward to achieving greater success together,” stated Kevin Burrell, Area Managing Director of Maersk Mekong (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar).

This network expansion will bolster Maersk’s capabilities to offer advanced storage solutions and optimize operational efficiency, further streamlining customer supply chains and fostering local economic growth.

The facility provides customers with enhanced inventory control and the flexibility to manage imports and exports without immediate duties, optimizing supply chains and reducing costs. These enhancements translate to faster delivery times and full customs compliance.

In addition, the warehouse is outfitted with advanced technology to maximize operational efficiency and safety, featuring a modern racking system, precise inventory controls, and an automated barcode system. Energy efficiency is also prioritized with spot-shaped skylight panels, energy-saving LED lighting, and motion sensors in office and public spaces to reduce electricity consumption.

Amazon Vietnam, a cross-border e-commerce provider, will be the facility’s first customer, launching its operations in October. Maersk Contract Logistics will offer bonded warehousing, domestic fulfilment, customs processing, and inland transportation services for Amazon’s operations.
