Danish ocean carrier Maersk has announced the launch of the TA5 service, connecting the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium with the United States East Coast.

In particular, the port rotation of the Transatlantic service will be London Gateway (UK) – Hamburg (Germany) – Rotterdam (Netherlands) – Antwerp (Belgium) – Philadelphia (US).

The service will commence on 19 February, coinciding with the launch of the new Maersk/Hapag-Lloyd alliance, but it will not be part of the Gemini Cooperation’s network.

Additionally, Maersk noted that a Norfolk call will be added to the TA3 service rotation, while the Philadelphia call will be removed. With this change, the service rotation will become as follows:

Southampton (UK) – Rotterdam (Netherlands) – Hamburg (Germany) – Wilhelmshaven (Germany) – Newark (US) – Norfolk (US) – Baltimore (US) – St. John (US)
