MacGregor will supply a 400-tonne Active Heave Compensated (AHC) subsea crane for a new 127-metre Floating Wind Farm Construction Vessel (FWCV). The vessel is designed for the growing floating offshore wind market. This is one of the largest subsea AHC cranes ordered in recent years.

The order is booked in MacGregor’s first-quarter 2026 intake. The contract is with Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., with operations managed by Hana Shipping Co., Ltd.

The crane will support mooring, cable laying, and other critical construction tasks. The vessel’s first project will be at the Ulsan Floating Wind Farm, 70 km off Ulsan, South Korea. Delivery of the crane is scheduled for the end of 2027. The vessel will follow in Q2 2028.

“This contract highlights MacGregor’s ability to deliver large, complex AHC subsea cranes with proven performance,” said Lucie Addicks, Executive VP of Offshore Solutions Division. “We provide robust, efficient solutions and work closely with project partners, supported by local presence for yard and in-service support.”

The crane’s under-deck main hoist requires high-level integration. MacGregor’s proximity to the shipyard and access to local resources will ensure smooth and efficient execution.
