Kuehne+Nagel has launched its Carrier Engagement Sustainability Programme.
This initiative marks a first-of-its-kind effort in the industry, involving the signing of individual Memoranda of Understanding with 14 leading global airlines to drive forward sustainability and innovation in airfreight.
The programme aims to significantly reduce the environmental impact of air cargo operations and represents a collaborative approach to addressing global sustainability challenges.
The airlines partnering in this effort include American Airlines, Air Canada, Air France Cargo and KLM Cargo, Atlas Air, Azul, Cargolux, Cathay Cargo, Delta Air Lines, LATAM Airlines Group S.A., Lufthansa Cargo, Swiss International Air Lines, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.
By signing MoUs with carriers across four continents, Kuehne+Nagel is expanding its global footprint for sustainability partnerships. The collaboration focuses on three strategic pillars:

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Decarbonisation: Promoting the adoption and sourcing of SAF—a renewable alternative to conventional jet fuel that can cut lifecycle CO₂ emissions by up to 80%.

Transparency and Impact Tracking: Establishing regular data-sharing between Kuehne+Nagel and airline partners to improve emission tracking, monitor progress, and assess the overall environmental impact of the programme.
