PIL has announced that its latest “O”-Class vessel, Kota Oasis, made its inaugural call at the Port of Lomé, Togo.

Following a successful first stop in Ghana, Kota Oasis continues its debut journey along PIL’s South West Africa Service route. The vessel is scheduled to make further calls in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire before returning to Asia.

With a capacity of 8,200 TEUs, Kota Oasis is one of PIL’s newest LNG dual-fuel vessels and is capable of running on greener bio-methane fuels.

It is equipped with Win-GD’s XDF engines featuring iCER technology, which significantly reduces methane emissions underscoring PIL’s commitment to sustainability and low-carbon shipping solutions.

The vessel’s name, Kota Oasis, reflects PIL’s vision of creating a cleaner and greener future for maritime transport. Its deployment to Africa marks an important milestone, highlighting the carrier’s continued investment in both environmental innovation and its long-standing engagement with the African market.

PIL has maintained a presence in Africa since the 1970s, and the region remains a vital component of the company’s global service network.
