Kongsberg Maritime, one of shipping’s tech leaders, is to be separated from Kongsberg Gruppen and become an independent, listed company. At the same time, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and Kongsberg Discovery will merge into one new listed company.
Lisa Edvardsen Haugan will lead Kongsberg Maritime as president and CEO. She has been with Kongsberg since 2009, and president of the maritime division for the past three years.
“I’m proud to see that Kongsberg Maritime’s journey has brought us to a point where we are ready to stand on our own feet and continue growing in the years ahead. Globally, the maritime industry is entering a new era of growth, and we are uniquely positioned to take part in the value creation to come,” Haugan said.
The planned separation of the Kongsberg empire is expected to be completed in the first half of next year.
