JSI Alliance has opened a new office in Bilbao, a key shipping and logistics hub in northern Spain. The office will handle commercial representation and port agency services across Spain, Portugal, and North Africa.
The branch is a joint effort between Noatum Maritime Services and SAL Heavy Lift. It will support the full JSI Alliance fleet, including multipurpose and heavy lift vessels.
Terry Gidlow, CEO of Noatum Maritime Services, said the partnership is a perfect match. “Both sides bring decades of international project and heavy lift experience,” he said.
Noatum Maritime Services is part of Noatum Maritime, a leading provider of port and agency services in the Mediterranean. The company also operates in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
Dr. Martin Harren, CEO of SAL Heavy Lift, highlighted the strategic value of the Bilbao office. “With Josu Iturri leading the team, we can better connect our American operations with European ports,” he said. “Strengthening our presence in Spain is a logical step as we expand our fleet.”
The combined JSI Alliance fleet, Jumbo Shipping, SAL Heavy Lift, and Intermarine, can lift up to 3,000 tonnes. The first of five new Orca Class vessels will enter service in the coming weeks. These ships are among the most modern and efficient heavy lift vessels in the world.
The Bilbao office will initially serve Spain, Portugal, and North Africa, with plans to expand to Turkey and the Middle East.
